Hello, everyone! I'm sorry that I basically disappeared for two months but as of late, I have actually been pretty busy! I haven't had a life drawing class in a while but I will still post the sketches/drawing that I like below.
Life drawing session: April 2017
Other than these sketches here, April wasn't a busy month of art for me. May, however, was an entirely different story.
At the beginning of May, I was invited to this event at this store called Chimera's Comics. There are about 3 locations but I was invited to the one in LaGrange, IL. The manager called it Wonder Woman Weekend (June 1st-4th) in celebration of the release of the Wonder Woman film. The good thing about this was that I had a chance to advertise my comic prose series Project: HANASU.
I accepted it but boy was it rough.
I had decided to make a couple of new prints for the event as well as make an entire sample comic with full color down to the last minute. I lost sleep over it but it was actually...VERY rewarding. It was one of the first events that I have ever sold my art in and to be so well received made me feel...good.
Anyway, here's the prints that I created for the event!
And finally, the last thing I did was make the Project: HANASU comic sample. It was sort of a last minute decision and yet somehow I managed to pull together something that didn't look half bad if I do say so myself. But with this sample, I am now fully ready to start scripting the rest of the first few chapters and get started on drawing it. So stay tuned!
Project: HANASU: May 2017
I also colored in three of the flower boy drawings I did from the last Inktober and that is all that I sold at the event. And NOW I must let myself get some rest and mentally prepare to make more art for the future. I know this post was kind of long but thank you for sticking around to read it.
Until next time!
